I started training with Alan Curry in October 2009. Thinking it would be like every other gym, I was somewhat reluctant to start training as I had been to a number of other gyms before and it always resulted in very little weight loss for the amount of training I used to do. However, the welcoming environment at Chic Physique immediately waved away all my initial doubts. Alan helped me with my training program which I took up twice a week and also gave me guidelines regarding nutrition.
Contrary to what I expected, the change I had to make in my lifestyle was not drastic. It was simply a question of eating the right things at the right time. I am sure that it was the little things that made the difference. For example, eating carbohydrates mostly after training to replenish those I would have used up during the session. Also, I found that eating smaller portions and making sure that I eat every 2.5 to 3 hours has helped to speed up my metabolism. In this way I can still enjoy all the types of food I like by controlling how much I eat and when I eat it.
The great thing about this is that it is no longer a big effort; this eating pattern has become part of my everyday life. The even better thing about it is that in these past 5 months I lost 15 kilos just by sticking to this plan and training with Alan twice a week. I have been following this program with my mother and the encouragement we give each other has helped us both work towards our targets.
